Josh Ellis: What is Your Why?

Playing a pivotal role on the University Instructors, Inc. (UI) team, Josh Ellis is an experienced leader in educational human capital and talent acquisition for multiple school districts across the U.S.  Earning a master's degree in Public Administration from Old Dominion University helped lead Josh to K-12 education, as he felt comfortable and passionate about public sector work.  "I enjoy working in K-12 education because education is the backbone of society and something that directly impacts everyone and all aspects of life," Josh states.

Joining the team in September of 2015, Josh says UI has grown significantly, even in just the past four years.  Through his experience, leadership, and access to resources throughout PCG, he helped develop UI's most recent school solution, EdForce™, designed to be a focused service around the teacher shortage crisis for all K-12 districts.  UI's resources and ability to be a K-12 human capital company has flourished, and the tools, programs and overall talent the team provides districts is a testament to the organization's growth.

Josh is thankful to work with schools and districts throughout the country to help achieve goals that directly impact the successes of students.  He believes the partnerships, strategies, joy, and trust in K-12 is something that is truly special.  His most memorable highlights in his career with UI include speaking in an EdForce strategy meeting in New York City, at the mayor's office with city officials, and attending the PCG promotion dinner in Nashville, where he was recognized for his promotion to Director of EdForce.  He also notes his enjoyment watching the overall growth and value of the EdForce service in the K-12 sector.
